Max's First Visit to New York

On Wednesday we arrived home from an almost week long visit to New York. It would have been a day shorter, but right as Daddy and Nonna were arguing about the resilience of Nonna's beloved minivan, it decided it was time to take a little break, and broke down on our way to JFK. That was ok though, because Nonno rescued us, and we got to enjoy the nice weather and a visit to Stone Barn the next day.

Earlier in the week, Max had a big family party thrown in his honor and got to meet all of his New York aunts, uncles and cousins. They are the best! Thanks Nonna and Nonno! We also had a family picture day, a day at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan, (complete with a rainstorm!), and Max got to meet his great grandfather Mario. This was very special.

Max was an amazing traveler and such a trooper! He missed naps, stayed up until midnight and got passed around to no end, yet didn't complain one bit. We just love this boy!

Waking up after a good night's sleep

We spent an afternoon at Oakland Beach and Max got to see the ocean for the very first time

Max was very sleepy and not really impressed with the water

Then Max got hungry and did what he always does when he wants to eat... started eating Mama's face

Then it was time for the family party and Zia Paula came over with the girls. Of course, we had to try on the Harley Davidson dew-rag that she brought over!

Then it was time for food and visiting

Breakfast on the patio with Nonna

Picture Day at the Park

After pictures we were very hungry and went to dinner

Monday we ventured into the city and went to lunch and the Museum of Natural History

Max was wiped out that night!

On Wednesday, Max got a very special treat and met his great grandfather Mario Caprara... four generations of Caprara men!
