We've been slacking off on the blogging over here. I have to admit, this month has been one of the hardest yet. Poor Max has been grumpy with a rash that we could just not figure out. I think we finally have it narrowed down and he doesn't seem to do well if Mama eats any dairy or wheat. It's been very sad to see our little boy with a bad rash all over his face and neck, which he constantly wants to scratch, scratch, scratch. This has made sleeping pretty difficult because we have to hold his hands so that he doesn't keep itching and he has to wear little newborn gloves on his hands. We tried a cap one night as well, but he would have none of that.
Now that Mommy has cut out dairy, and pretty much any indulgences, we're hoping that things will start improving soon. The books and websites say that it takes about two weeks for the allergens to fully work out of baby's system, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Still Max seems to be growing bigger every day. He sits up very well by himself and loves to pull toys out of buckets and tip them over. He is great at tummy time and is quite the expert at reversing, turning in a full circle and is just starting to get up on his hands and knees.
Here are some photos of baby and life lately.
A couple of weeks ago I watched both Max and Lincoln by myself. I got a great little photo shoot in, but we only lasted about thirty minutes before Auntie Aaryn was called back and found me bouncing two big boys on my hips. First Linc started fussing, then Max started crying, and neither one was happy unless they were being held. My arms were sore the rest of the day!
Just playing around...
Max has been taking a lot of baths to help with his rash. Baths with Epsom Salt, Baking Soda, both... They just seem to help this hunky guy out. He particularly likes to sing in the bath and often makes us wonder if he'll be the next American Idol.
Max can't crawl yet, but somehow he always gets where he wants to go by scooting, rolling and pushing his feet. See how he ended up under the chair?
