Happy Birthday Maeve!

Today Maevie Girl turns 1 year old. It's hard to believe that one year ago today, I got the call to bring some liquid iron at 4:30am for her ailing mama. Caitlin had lost a lot of blood and halfway through labor her contractions stopped. She birthed that baby with pure willpower. She was so brave and is such a great mommy.

I remember I was three months pregnant and so sick, but for some reason I got to spend all day with that sweet new baby and didn't feel a twinge of morning sickness. It's like baby Max knew that it was time to take a break and welcome his little cousin into the world. It was amazing to see the miracle of a new baby just months before I welcomed my own child. Spending time with Maeve helped me get through my own difficult pregnancy.

Maevie is so special. She's such fun and already such a character. That girl is really hilarious and we love her so much. Here are some pictures from her birthday party last week.

A monsoon came along and sent everyone inside for presents

July

July is almost at an end and we're in the full swing of summer. Max just keeps growing and growing and weighs about 23 pounds and is 29 inches long. He's off the charts for his age range and is still such a happy boy! He loves flirting with strangers, singing with mommy and sitting up on his own. He's getting steadier every day. He still can't roll from his tummy to his back, but he loves spending time on his tummy so that's ok.

Here he is playing on the floor last week.

Max and Daddy love their playtime together. Especially after eating our family dinner on the living room floor. That seems to be easier these days: Max plays and rolls around while Mommy and Daddy catch up and eat dinner. Daddy works a lot these days, so these moments are extra special. Max gets a huge grin whenever he sees his Papa.

Max also loves his cousins more than anything and luckily we get to play with them a lot. Here are the kiddos at Auntie Aaryn's house last week. Oh, how we love all of these babies!

Nothing is more beautiful than a Mama and her babe.
